Health & Wellness Information
Our school health and wellness policy is currently being updated. In the meantime, please review the information on how we promote health and wellness at Lahaina Intermediate School.
- We have a Health and Wellness Committee, comprised of our health teachers, vice principals and parent liaison, who meet at least three times per year and periodically works with the school safety committee to monitor and promote health and wellness activities.
- We work to meet the Hawaii State Department of Education Wellness Guidelines linked here: Wellness Guidelines
- We are members of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, which provides resources for School Health and Wellness.
- We complete the School Health Index at the beginning of the school year to see how we can improve and the Safety and Wellness Survey (SAWS) at the end of each school year to assess our progress.
- We also provide Health Education to our students that meets the Health Education Standards (Hawaii Content and Performance Standards III) linked here: Health Standards
